Web and Social Media Marketing Campaigns

Leading Campaigns

At Glorious, my position as Lead Graphic Designer encompassed multiple different types of design, including ideating and executing art direction for web and social media marketing. 

My process when creating art direction for marketing campaigns began with inspiration shared with the marketing team and stakeholders to receive feedback and ideas. The next steps included sketches and initial direction drafts, which involved working with 3D designers for renders, checking in with the Creative Director for any limitations and requirements, and presenting drafts for rounds of revisions and group critique. Once the direction was approved and could be executed across the campaign, I either delegated the assets for creation across the design team, or executed these designs myself. For the following portfolio samples, all art direction and asset creation was done by myself – with the exception of some of the UX and bundle assets of the Summer Sales page.

GMMK 2

This project was a massive internal undertaking. The launch of the GMMK 2 line of keyboards was an exciting moment for Glorious, and by far the biggest product release of the year. The goals of the marketing campaign were not only to showcase Glorious’ new flagship product line, but also to unveil the new, brighter brand standards that would become the company’s new aesthetic. I was tasked with designing teasers, ads, promotional material, and product reveal graphics that would be published across multiple platforms.

The design themes throughout this marketing campaign and brand redesign are reminiscent of GMMK 2’s RGB lighting and multiple colorways.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2021

At Glorious, like many tech companies, Black Friday is the largest sale of the year and consistently sets annual sale records. My first major project with Glorious was spearheading the Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotional campaign. As Art Director, I collaborated with the video director and a pixel animation artist to direct a campaign that utilized a consistent retro-gaming theme to market our Black Friday sales. Grabbing inspiration from 16-bit arcade games – including retro typography and simplified backgrounds and transitions – I created a custom logotype and design system to utilize in social and web graphics that tied the teaser video and the rest of the campaign together.

For the 2021 Holiday season, Glorious created a giveaway campaign to boost product sales and engagement after the Black Friday rush. For this sale, I created art direction with a system of hand-drawn illustrations in a style that combined classic holiday colors and the Glorious brand colors together – while avoiding too much green on the social graphics due to compression issues on certain platforms.

This direction translated to a greeting card that I illustrated as marketing material for the Glorious Guild forum and mailing list. It features the Lynx and Panda characters, which the mechanical keyboard switches are named after. The long web banner gave the sales page and home page a seasonal refresh, while corresponding with the unique daily graphics going out on social media to promote each giveaway. The sale and giveaway were a great success, and demonstrated that a gaming tech brand can succeed while occasionally exploring more ambitious and whimsical visual design to showcase their products.

The Glorious Summer Sale 2022 was a flash sale focused on surprising customers with inexpensive keyboard and mice bundles. It was similar in structure to the annual Black Friday sale, but with bright and warm art direction to catch the eye. The color palette is expanded from the Glorious brand colors, and features bright and colorful product renders to match the summer style initiative. The direction was simple: Create a key element and color scheme that can translate across web, social media assets, and ads of all sizes.
